Importing your sales data into Royalty Tracker is one of the key steps in processing your royalties. For new users of Royalty Tracker or those that only pay royalties once every several months, it’s easy to forget some of the basics. In fact, one of the most common requests we receive is how to upload sales data into Royalty Tracker. In this video Shane will walk you through step by step instructions on how to import your sales files into Royalty Tracker.
Your first step is to gather your sales data from your various locations and ensure that is formatted into the proper layout for import (or use our Sales Aggregator tool to do this for you). Once you have them all ready you simply choose the appropriate file and select the File Transfer tool. Royalty Tracker will then upload your sales files.
Once all of your sales files are uploaded you will want to see if there were any issues with your sales. You can see this in the Sales Reconciliation Reports tab. In our video Shane walks you through the steps to pull run Sales Reconciliation Report. As you scroll through the sales you can see if Royalty Tracker processed your sales reports properly. This video will show you how simple it is to fix the issues by reviewing the status and fixing the selected problems. The next time Royalty Tracker processes your sales (typically once per day), the fixed sales items will be processed and drop off the report. Since you may not want to wait for the results you can also tell it to process them right away.
If you have multiple sales files that are formatted differently than our Royalty Tracker layout and this is a daunting task, our Sales Aggregator on AuthorPortal.com will be very helpful for you. AuthorPortal.com’s Sales Aggregation tools, save hours of effort and mitigates the risk of this critical component of The Royalty Management Life Cycle.
